a little context
People first. Systems that hold up.
I’m Raul, an IT infrastructure and Operations Professional Based in California.
I’m drawn to the part of technology that people depend on without having to think about it.
Working in hospitality makes that connection easy to see. A technical issue can affect someone checking in a guest, processing a payment, or getting through a busy shift. The work is about helping those people get back to what they need to do.
My background includes supporting infrastructure, Windows environments, user access, and enterprise applications. I work through problems with colleagues and vendors, and I try to leave the next person with a clearer picture than I started with.
How I work
I like to understand the context before changing things: what stopped working, who is affected, and what a useful recovery looks like. A good explanation and a clear handoff matter alongside the technical fix.
I’m interested in practical improvements: useful documentation, more consistent access management, and fewer assumptions about how a system behaves.
Where I’m headed
I’m pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology Management at Western Governors University. I’m also continuing to develop my understanding of infrastructure engineering, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.
Over time, I want to grow into IT leadership while staying close to the work. This site is a place to share what I can explain clearly and document what I’m learning along the way.
